Some Kitchen Progress

Well, as you can see, there is one bar stool. We ordered one, "trying it out" in case it wasn't what we wanted. Well, it's pretty comfortable, so 5 more are on their way.

We went with a couch, loveseat, and two "modern" swivel recliner chairs. The fireplace still needs a mantel, and we still need to trim out the room & windows, but the floor is in, and furniture is in place! We can relax!

We need to get some pillows for the couches. The stool is a makeshift side table for now.

We are enjoying the gas cooktop in the island, the raised bar, and the "hidden" dishwasher. We also like the deep one well sink. We splurged on an instant hot water faucet for teas & coffees.

Still need to do backsplash. We are enjoying the deep and wide drawers. I like the round table, but it only accomodates 5 chairs, and we don't have a 100% concensus regarding the table. So...probably on the hunt for something bigger and/or different.

Aspiring Artist

Case has been making lots of designs lately. His medium of choice is Crayola Markers. Here's his latest creation.

Spring

I like Spring! I like Fall better, but Spring is great, too, especially with all the beautiful sunsets we've been having lately!

Meet Perry

Meet Perry, our new dog!

It's been five years since we've had a dog, and we are in a better place now to be dog owners again. So, for the past few months I've been looking at classified ads, contacting breeders, looking into different breeds, and so on, and just this weekend, it all came together.

Perry (formerly known as "Brawly") is a 10 month old American Staffordshire Terrier. He has a wonderful temperament. Although he is still a puppy, he hasn't been overly hyper. He is a big boy (about 60 pounds), and somewhat of a slobber-er.

We got him from a cute couple out of the Quad Cities who also have a 12 year old German Shepherd. They discovered that they were allergic to his saliva. And, they have a baby due in April.

So, Perry has been investigating his new digs. He's pretty happy he has four kids to love on him.

Here's hoping for a long life for our new friend, Perry! :)
